Mom On Us national Mothers Day promotion,
distributing free phone cards
In
1996, As president of Axis Media, Perry conceived and
presented the concept of a promotion that resulted in the
distribution of nearly 200,000 10-minute long-distance phone
cards at over 1,400 J.C. Penney stores across the United
States.
Axis
Media, having no previous experience in phone card promotions,
Perry identified a plastic card manufacturer and long-distance
carrier to produce sample cards for every store manager within
one week of Penneys acceptance of the program. He coordinated
the shipping of specific quantities to each store, along
with the activation of secure PINs, to coincide with the
national promotional announcement in their advertising circulars.
Perry
subsequently designed numerous phone card-based promotional
campaigns for J.C. Penney and clients, including GTE Long
Distance, and others.
