catalog production and coordination of thousands of product
samples
As
president of Axis Media, from 1995 to 1999, Perry developed
database-driven techniques, using bar-code labeling systems,
to meticulously track thousands of product samples from dozens
of J.C. Penney jewelry vendors around the country, as they
were collected to prepare digitally-photographed in-store
catalogs. The jewelry had to be accounted for at every turn
and, ultimately, returned to each vendor.
Perry
also devised methods of tracking and re-purposing the photography
of individual jewelry items from previous catalogs into new
layouts with new background colors. This reduced costs to
J.C. Penney by over 50%.
