Strategic Planning (PSP) Service Overview
Stage
1: Design Meeting
The
decision to plan and work together in a new, consensus-driven
way has been made. Initial commitment to
this process involves inviting additional, diverse perspectives
to be represented at the Design Meeting. (More
about Stage 1)
Stage
2: Off-site Strategic Planning Meeting
This meeting takes place
over a two- to three-day period
with representation from key
stakeholders and the total organization. The planning group actively
participates in generating data in response to focused topics:
Inventory of National Trends, Practical Vision, Underlying Contradictions,
Strategic Actions and Directions, and a One-Year Project Implementation
Calendar.
During
these sessions, ideas are generated using individual and group
brainstorming processes. All ideas are visually displayed
so the whole group can determine
how to organize and title them in a way that will integrate and guide
their future actions. (More

Stage
3: Follow-Up Implementation
Leadership
Coaching - Team Leaders and Plan Coordinators receive support on
how to facilitate effective
meetings through modeling
and coaching.
Plan
Implementation (Client driven) - Strategic Direction Teams carry
out the First Quarter projects that have
been
jointly
identified in Stage 2 by
following
steps outlined in their respective Implementation Tracking Worksheets.
Quarterly
Progress Meetings - The original planning team, along with added
team members, reconvene every quarter for progress meetings.
The plan is
reviewed to assess and celebrate the progress that has been made
by each team.
Annual
Strategic Plan Update - At the full-day Annual Update
Meeting, the core components of the plan are refreshed and
a new One-Year
Project Implementation
Calendar is developed to continue progress toward achieving
the Practical Vision.
Adjustments in the composition of Strategic Direction teams
are also made at this time. (More
